Phoenix, AZ, Dec. 23 – Canyon State Electric (CSE) donated 319 LEGO sets last week to Phoenix Children’s as a result of its annual LEGO Drive. The drive concluded its fourth year, bringing in the highest number of sets collected in its history.
The LEGO Drive began in 2021 after the passing of Canyon State Electric founder Steve Maderazzo. He famously loved building with LEGO and created many structures, including a replica of the CSE office building. The Canyon State Electric team pays tribute to his legacy with generosity, donating LEGO sets to children in need of toys each December.
“The LEGO Drive lets us honor our past while giving children hope for the future,” said CEO Stephanie Maderazzo-Hughes. “I’m inspired every year by the way our CSE team and industry partners show overwhelming support and generosity.”
All LEGO sets collected during November and December were given to children receiving inpatient care at Phoenix Children’s.
“We are grateful to partners like Canyon State Electric who generously give to Phoenix Children’s,” said Tim Harrison, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Special Events. “LEGO sets don’t just lift a child’s spirits for a moment, but working on them can take their mind off of more difficult things, while igniting creativity and learning-through-play.”
As part of Phoenix Children’s Toyland, parents will be able to “shop” to select the perfect toy for their child at no cost.
Canyon State Electric exceeded its fundraising goal of 300 LEGO sets with help from partners such as Billd, Enterprise Electric, Hensel Phelps, and Marsh McClennan.
